Kersey Hosting Budget & Finance Forum in Rancho Penasquitos

The public forum is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 at the PQ Library.

Here's a chance to throw in your two cents about San Diego's finances.

Councilman Mark Kersey, who represents Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Peñasquitos in District 5, is hosting a public budget and finance forum next week to get feedback and answer questions from residents.

The forum, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rancho Peñasquitos Library (13330 Salmon River Rd.), is part of the councilman's Signature Event series about various topics in different locations throughout the district. A previous event about infrastructure was held in Rancho Bernardo in April.

Residents can ask Kersey questions about the city finance topics, including the recently passed $2.75 billion budget with $2 million set aside for police retention that Kersey spoke out about on Tuesday.

In a Twitter Q&A on June 13, Kersey discussed the City Council's plans to assess sidewalk hazards, a project allocated $1 million by council members.

Residents can drop-in to Wednesday's event, but are also asked to RSVP by emailing markkersey@sandiego.gov or calling the council office at 619-236-6655.
