Chris Stone is a photographer for Patch in San Diego County. Chris, a La Mesa resident since 1999, boasts photo credits in National Geographic books, The Washington Post, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Faster Forward of USA Track & Field, National Masters News and several newspapers where she was reporter and editor in the 1970s and 1980s, including The Vista Press and Oceanside Blade-Tribune. She graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Arizona and won the top student reporter award there in the mid-1970s.
Two of her photos were displayed at the International Exhibition of Photography at the San Diego County Fair in summer 2010. She also was a staff photographer for a 2008 congressional campaign, and photographed the National Democratic Convention in Denver and the 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Since the late 1980s, Chris has taught English as a Second Language to adults at the Mid-City Center in San Diego, part of the San Diego Community College District.
