Folk Festival and RB Alive Kick Off First Weekend in June

May is officially ending but the first weekend of June is kicking off with lots of fun events.

‘BUS STOP’ PRESENTED BY POWPAC
What’s Up: PowPac, Poway’s Community Theatre will present Bus Stop. The classic romance will tell a story of an interstate bus is forced to stop in a small town. Each bus passenger is introduced and the story unfolds.
When: 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31; 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 1; 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.
Where: POWPAC, Poway's Community Theatre, 13250 Poway Rd., Poway.
Price: $15-$18.

SAM HINTON FOLK FESTIVAL
What’s Up: The annual festival will host folk, blue grass, Irish and old time musical performances, storytelling, arts, crafts and more.
When: 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
Where: Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Rd., Poway.
Price: Free.

RHYTHM & YOUTH MUSIC SHOWCASE
What’s Up: The free two day event will feature 28 performances from youth under 18. The showcase will be outdoors at the mall entrance on the east side of the mall next to McDonald’s.
When: Noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.
Where: Westfield North County,  272 East Via Rancho Pkwy., Escondido.
Price: Free.

RB ALIVE!
What's Up: San Diego North County Chamber of Commerce will host the 25th annual street fair. The event will include family friendly activities, vendors, food trucks, car show, live entertainment and more.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.
Where: Bernardo Center Dr. & Bernardo Plaza Ct., Rancho Bernardo.

POWAY SENIOR CENTER BBQ AND AUCTION FUNDRAISER
What’s Up: Poway Senior Center will host a barbecue and fundraiser. The event will include silent auction gift baskets, food and more.
When: 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.
