Amtrak, Coaster, Metrolink Service Will Be Suspended This Weekend in San Diego County

Rail service is scheduled to be restored in time for the Monday morning commute.

Rail service along the North County coastal corridor will be suspended this weekend because of construction work, according to the North County Transit District.

The NCTD's Coaster will not run, and Amtrak and the Metrolink will not come south into San Diego County.

There will be no specific bus replacement going to Coaster stops, but the NCTD said riders can use the Route 101 bus instead. An extra bus will be added along the route today to accommodate the extra passenger load, according to the agency.

Passengers with a valid Metrolink fare can use the NCTD's Route 395 bus.

Amtrak said most of its trains will terminate, or begin northbound trips, in Irvine. Limited bus service will be available as an alternate from the Old Town Transit Center.

Metrolink trains will only run north of the Laguna Niguel-Mission Viejo station, in southern Orange County.

Construction will be performed at the Santa Margarita Bridge in Camp Pendleton, the Coast Boulevard crossing in Del Mar, the San Dieguito Bridge, and between Sorrento Valley Road and Miramar Road.

Rail service is scheduled to be restored in time for the Monday morning commute.
