Monday Essentials: Fire Prep, Football and the Forecast

See what you need to know for the upcoming week, including who the special guest speaker at the RB Community Council will be.

The season officially switched to fall over the weekend, but nobody will blame you if you didn't notice. It doesn't quite feel like fall in San Diego, and it won't for the rest of this week.

Here's a look at a few things to know for the upcoming week:

  • Fall? Rancho Bernardo temperatures Monday and Tuesday are expected to be in the mid-to upper-80s, followed by low-70s highs on Wednesday and Thursday before things warm up heading into the weekend.
  • Chargers Futbol: The Chargers seem to be up to the usual this season, giving hope and then dashing it at the last second. The last-minute loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday—during which quarterback Philip Rivers kicked the ball in a desperation move—was a tough one for Chargers fans. Next up for the Bolts are the Dallas Cowboys, who are 2-1 on the season to the home team's 1-2. The game is set to kick off at 1:25 p.m. Sunday at Qualcomm.
  • RB Community Council: Chief Javier Mainar, who heads the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, is scheduled to be the guest speaker at Thursday's 6:30 p.m. council meeting at the RB Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Dr. The chief is expected to discuss fire safety, preparedness and getting ready for emergencies. The meeting is open to the public.
