Community Corner

Hats Off To: Nikki Frampton

Frampton volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego.

"I am always embarrassed to receive awards because I volunteer to help others and not for the recognition I receive. Having said that I am very excited and grateful for being honored. I was raised to give back to my community and this award is recognition of the efforts I have made from the lessons my parents taught me.

"The Boys & Girls Clubs are important to me because there are a great deal of children who would not have some basic opportunities afforded to them if the Boys & Girls clubs did not exist. I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to learn and thrive regardless of their circumstances. There is a quote by Forest Witcraft that sums up how I feel about helping children: "One years from now it will not matter what car I drove or how much I had in the bank...But the world may be better because I was important in the life of a child."
