Hats Off To: Lucille Rabinowitz

Rabinowitz is first vice president of programs for the Rancho Bernardo Woman's Club.

"It is an humbling recognition to be honored by my peers. It also is meaningful to me in that it hopefully sets an example to young girls especially of high school age. Through the spirit of volunteering—whether at school, in a community or an organization, it shows a willingness to 'give back.' The contribution of one's time and efforts is a self-rewarding factor to be cherished.

Being a member of the RB Woman's Club is important to me because of the many lasting friendships that have evolved. The ongoing dedication of its members show the generosity of its philanthropic works and this, too, is important to me. The RB Woman's Club was organized in our community in 1964. The club awards three scholarships every year to female high school students and also makes generous donations to various local charities. Hosting fundraisers proves it's the little things that create big differences not only in the lives of others but in our lives as well."
