The USA women’s volleyball team won over Japan in its first match on U.S. soil since the Olympics on Wednesday night in La Jolla. A sold out crowd came out to cheer on Team USA at UC San Diego's RIMAC Arena.

Match highlights included play by two locals: Juliann Faucette, a Westview High School graduate from San Diego, and Cassidy Lichtman, a Francis Parker graduate from Poway. Faucette also sang the national anthem.

USA won over Japan three sets to one. It was their first match under new head coach Karch Kiraly. The teams consist of silver and bronze medalists from the 2012 Olympic Games.

The tournament will continue at CSU Long Beach on Friday and JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano on Saturday.
