San Diego Interim Mayor Pays Off His Sports Bets

Interim Mayor Todd Gloria owes Denver Mayor Michael Hancock burritos from Ortiz's Taco Shop in Ocean Beach, carne asada fries from Lolita's Taco Shop in Kearny Mesa and deep-fried catfish tacos from Mama Testa Taqueria in Hillcrest.

The mayor of Cincinnati paid up Tuesday on a wager with interim San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria over a National Football League playoff game.

The leaders of the two cities had bet on the Chargers Jan. 5 playoff game against the Bengals—and the Bolts won 27-10.

According to Gloria's office, Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley had food samples delivered from three chains based in the Queen City—Gold Star Chili, Graeter's ice cream and barbecue from Montgomery Inn.

Gloria had wagered samples from some of San Diego's craft breweries.

San Diego's mayor has his own debt to pay, however. The Chargers fell the following week to the now-Super Bowl-bound Broncos, 24-17.

Gloria's spokeswoman, Katie Keach, said they were working on logistics for paying off the second wager.
