Player wives and their romping children greeted Chargers afterward and season ticket-holders cheered their team during Day 9 of training camp Friday at Chargers Park.

New head coach Mike McCoy was enthusiastically cheered when introduced at the 3-5 p.m. practice. Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted fans who watched offensive and defensive drills and passing and rushing practice on two fields in Murphy Canyon.

More than a dozen players signed autographs after the practice. A large crowd hugged the fence to get autographs of rookie linebacker Chargers rookie Manti Te'o from Notre Dame.

Veteran safety Eric Weddle pleased fans by signing hats, balls and signs well after all other players headed in for dinner.

All fans are welcome to attend FanFest 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium. The parking lot opens at 9 a.m. and gates open at 10. Parking and admission are free.
