PUSD College Fair Explores High Costs

The fair includes free workshops on financial aid, plus representatives from more than 150 colleges.

Parents looking for strategies to tackle the high cost of higher education will get a little help on Tuesday at the Poway Unified School District's annual college fair.

Hosted at Mt. Carmel High School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the fair brings representatives from more than 150 colleges to answer questions, plus nine workshops on a variety of education topics:

  • Tips for Applying to the Top UC's
  • Show Me the Money—for College
  • Exploring Community Colleges in San Diego
  • The ACT Exam: What is it? Do I need to take it?
  • Introduction to College Athletic Recruiting
  • Early Acceptance Medical School Programs
  • Helping Families with the High Cost of College
  • Secrets of College Funding and Financial Aid
  • The Art Institutes, Starting your Creative Education

Each workshop runs once at 6:30-7:15 p.m. and again from 7:20-8:05 p.m. (A schedule with room locations and presenters is attached.)
