Public Hearing: PUSD Requests Waiver of Class Size Maximums

The Poway Unified School District will be asking the state to continue to allow it to exceed class size maximums through 2014.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Please be advised that the Poway Unified School District will be requesting the State Board of Education to allow the Poway Unified School District to continue flexibility in staffing at grades 4—8 by waiving the requirements of Education Code 41376 (b) and (e) and increase the maximum allowable class size average for the district from 30.9 students to 33 in grades 4—8. This waiver would be applicable for the school years, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

Any persons interested in expressing their concerns regarding this matter may do so at a public hearing to be held by the Board of Education at a regularly scheduled meeting on October 10, 2011, at Poway Unified District Office, 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego, California, at 6:00 PM.
