A follower of a group started in response to Poway Unified's billion-dollar bond controversy has started a petition on Change.org, a web-based platform for "social change," to fire PUSD Superintendent John Collins.
The petition from a follower of Thanks a Billion states that Collins has "misled the board of trustees in fiscal mismanagement" and accuses the superintendent of lacking openness and accountability.
In an opinion article posted on RB Patch on Tuesday, a poll was conducted surveying people's thoughts on firing Collins.
As of 9:15 p.m. Tuesday evening, 16 of the 17 votes were in favor of the removal of Collins. At the same time, the Change.org petition showed 12 signatures, with a total of 88 needed.
One signer of the petition said Collins was responsible for the financial disaster of the district.
