RB Planning Board to Try Removing Member Again

The board is expected to vote on removing longtime member Robin Kaufman at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the RB Swim and Tennis Club.

The Rancho Bernardo Planning Board is set to meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the RB Swim & Tennis Club, 16955 Bernardo Oaks Dr.

The board is expected to resume a vote on removing longtime member Robin Kaufman amid concerns that she has engaged in conduct detrimental to the board. At the last board meeting in January, a vote was tabled after a representative from Mayor Bob Filner's office, saying he was bringing a message from the mayor, expressed concern about the board's compliance with the Brown Act.

Filner's spokeswoman distanced the mayor from the remark of the representative, Steve Hadley, when contacted by Patch. However, in the weeks since, Filner's office has not responded to repeated requests by phone and email to explain why Hadley brought that message to the Jan. 23 meeting.

The board rescheduled its February meeting for Tuesday night after concerns that it had not complied with Brown Act requirements for posting its agenda at least 72 hours before the meeting.
