RB Community Council Elections Underway

The voting continues through next week.

The Rancho Bernardo Community Council elections are underway, and voting will be available at the council's booth at RB Alive! on Sunday. None of the races are contested and one district also has vacancies.

Here's who is in the race:

  • District A Westwood/Casa: Robin Kaufman and Peter Horgan (there are two vacancies in this district)
  • District C Oaks North: Sharon Smith
  • District D Swim & Tennis: Eileen Kaufman
  • District E Seven Oaks/Remington: Jerry Sack
  • District F Bernardo Heights: Andrew Osorno

And here's how you can vote, according to the Melissa Shoop, the corresponding secretary for the council:

Ballot boxes and pre-printed ballots will be placed at community centers where vacancies exist (above districts) and also at the RBCC booth at RB Alive! on June 3. Voting is open from the week before to the week after RB Alive!

Because write-in candidates are not allowed, those wishing to present themselves for any open position on the council may come to the next council meeting on Thursday, June 28, 7 p.m. at the Oaks North Community Center.

Regarding Patch's response to this comment: A 'typo' is when someone hits the wrong key on theRead More keyboard, like typing "Democrut" or "Demacrat." Calling a Democrat a Republican is a MISTAKE and party affiliation is very easy to check check these days. Maybe this is just a "blog," I'm not sure. But if it's a "news site", and the people writing stories are purporting to be "journalists" or "reporters" could easily do better and should do so. Let's not minimize a factual error in a "news" story as a "typo."

I think that Fletcher flip-flops partially because he is looking for means to bring HIS politics toRead More the table.

This was a typo and it's been fixed. We apologize for the error.
