PQ Council Preview: Young Leaders, Safety and High-Speed Rail

The PQ Town Council will feature a guest presentation from a high school senior with political aspirations.

The Rancho Peñasquitos Town Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Double Tree Hotel & Resort, 14455 Peñasquitos Dr.

Here's a look at what's on the agenda (full agenda attached):

  • High School Leadership Program: Mount Carmel High School junior Anna Page will talk about a YMCA program that allows teens to get a taste of Capitol life, taking them to Sacramento for a week to learn about state and national issues. (Program flier attached.)
  • High-Speed Rail: The council may vote on sending a letter to state officials with its thoughts about the high-speed rail project, which will connect San Diego to Los Angeles, and Los Angeles to San Francisco.
  • Other items: Fiesta 2012; fundraising; utillity box beautification; political representative reports.
