Poll Shows DeMaio Leads San Diego Mayoral Race
A U-T San Diego poll shows most voters support the councilman.
Of the 611 registered voters surveyed, 24 percent support Councilman Carl DeMaio in the race to be San Diego's next mayor, U-T San Diego reported.
The poll—conducted by Center for Education Policy and Law and U-T San Diego—shows Rep. Bob Filner in second place with 20 percent.
DeMaio, who currently represents Rancho Bernardo, also faces Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher and District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis. Both were tied in third place with 10 percent of the votes.
