Obamas Paid $453K Taxes; Income More Than $1.7M

The White House on Monday released President Barack Obama's federal tax return.

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, paid about $453,000 in federal taxes on more than $1.7 million in income in 2010, according to their federal tax return released by the White House on Monday.

The President and First Lady overpaid their taxes by a little more than $12,000 and were entitled to a refund.

The Obamas also donated nearly a quarter of a million dollars to charity, including $131,075 to The Fisher House Foundation, Inc. and $15,000 to The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. The foundation provides housing near medical centers for family members of injured military service members undergoing treatment.
