Last Mayoral Debate is Wednesday

The top four candidates will face off in the debate in Mission Valley.

The last major mayoral debate before Tuesday's primary election is scheduled to take place in Mission Valley on Wednesday.

The San Diego Taxpayers Association is sponsoring the debate, which kicks off at 11:45 a.m. at the Town and Country Resort & Conference Center on Hotel Circle North.

Mayor Jerry Sanders is terming out later this year. In the running to replace him are Councilman Carl DeMaio, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, Rep. Bob Filner, D-San Diego, and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.

If no one receives more than 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary, the top two finishers will face off in the November general election.

Sanders is endorsing Dumanis. However, several local polls show DeMaio is leading the race, with Filner and Fletcher vying for a second and third, and Dumanis trailing in fourth.
