Faulconer Endorses DeMaio in 52nd District Race

Councilman Kevin Faulconer said he thinks DeMaio is the best candidate to "effect real change" in Washington, D.C.

San Diego City Councilman Kevin Faulconer announced his support for his former fellow councilman's congressional bid in an announcement from Carl DeMaio's campaign Thursday.

"Having worked with Carl on a number of key San Diego reforms, I have no doubt that he is the best candidate to truly change the way Washington D.C. does business," Faulconer said in a statement from the campaign. "Carl's commitment to reforming government and his tireless work ethic demonstrate that he is right person to effect real change in Washington and deliver real results for our region."

DeMaio, who sat on the council with Faulconer during the most recent term before giving up his seat in a failed bid for mayor, is running for the 52nd Congressional District seat held by Rep. Scott Peters, a Democrat.

The Lincoln Club of San Diego County also recently announced it was backing DeMaio in the 52nd race.
