Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Car on Carmel Mountain Road

A male was jaywalking when he was struck by a vehicle.

An eldlerly male has died from injuries he sustained after being hit by a vehicle on Carmel Mountain Road early Wednesday morning, according to San Diego Police Watch Commander Dan Lasher.

According to police, a man, estimated to be 70-years-old, was jaywalking across the 4600 block of Carmel Mountain Road near Ocean Air Drive around 6 a.m. on Nov. 28. A vehicle traveling eastbound in the number two lane of Carmel Mountain Road struck the pedestrian.

Lasher stated the pedestrian was transported to a local trauma unit for treatment but later died at the hospital.

Traffic Division is investigating and the identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification to his family, according to Lasher.

No other parties involved were injured.
