Meth Trafficking Investigation Brings Feds to Rancho Peñasquitos

Drug agents executed a search warrant in Rancho Peñasquitos as part of a multi-agency investigation.

Eight people were jailed Thursday as part of a multi-agency investigation into San Diego-area methamphetamine trafficking, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officials said.

Agents with the federal agency, San Diego police, sheriff's deputies and Border Patrol personnel made the arrests this morning while serving search warrants at five locations in the county as part of a year-long probe, DEA spokeswoman Amy Roderick said.

In an email to Patch, Roderick said an unspecified location in Rancho Peñasquitos was part of the search.

Arrested were San Diego residents Jason Boone, 42; Clifford Champagnie, 47; Spencer Edmonds, 32; Vincente Garcia, 41; Michael Gifford, 32; Charles Johnson, 39; Susie Macias, 40; and John Milano, 42.

Details about the ongoing investigation were not released.
