Man Questions Safety of I-15 South Speed Limit Through Rancho Bernardo (Video)
He claims his friend unfairly received a speeding ticket for making a safe merge with the flow of traffic.
In a YouTube video, a man questions the safety and logic of the speed limit on Interstate 15 South through Rancho Bernardo. He says his friend unfairly received a $300 speeding ticket for traveling 75 mph in a 65 mph zone while merging from the express lane onto the freeway.
He argues it is not possible to safely merge from the express lane with the flow of traffic without going at least 75 mph. The man filmed himself driving on both a Tuesday afternoon and evening, and in both cases the flow of traffic was 75 mph or faster.
