Man Posing as Police Officer Robs Man at Gunpoint

The suspect was allegedly wearing a security guard uniform.

A man posing as a police officer took another man's wallet at gunpoint Monday morning, officials said.

The alleged victim was getting something out of the trunk of his car at 8954 Rio San Diego Dr. just before 9 a.m. Monday when the suspect, in a security guard uniform, identified himself as a police officer and pointed a handgun at the man, according to a San Diego Police Department report.

The suspect took the man's wallet and other personal property, then fled in a four-door vehicle. He is described as a 35- to 40-year-old Hispanic man in a blue-gray uniform with a badge on the shirt.

The incident is under investigation.
