Firefighters Hosting Open House with Giveaways

The firefighters at Station No. 33 in Rancho Bernardo are opening the doors Saturday for kid-friendly activities and safety gear giveaways.

Fire Station No. 33 in Rancho Bernardo is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with giveaways and kid-friendly activities.

The giveaways:

  • AT&T landline phones
  • Smoke detectors
  • Energizer nine-volt batteries
  • Refreshments

The activities:

  • Station tours
  • "Teddy Bear Rescue"
  • Kids firefighter combat course
  • CPR demonstration

The open house comes at the end of Fire Prevention Week and is co-sponsored by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation. Giveaways are on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees may be able to park at the post office next door or across the street in the shopping center and then walk back to the station.
