CHP Nabs DUI Suspect After I-15 Chase That Began in RB

Patrolmen caught up to the motorist near Escondido.

A DUI suspect led the California Highway Patrol on a pursuit along Interstate 15 Friday before being forced to a stop and arrested north of Escondido.

The motorist, who reportedly had been driving erratically and got into a collision on the freeway near Mira Mesa Boulevard, refused to yield to a CHP officer in the Rancho Bernardo area shortly before 10 a.m., according to the state agency.

The driver fled to the north for about 15 minutes, until a pursuing officer used his cruiser to nudge the back end of the suspect's green Saturn and send it skidding to a stop north of Deer Springs Road.
