Issue: Will Bob Filner Resign Sooner or Never? National Dems Add Pressure

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, leader of the Democratic National Committee, called on the Democratic mayor to resign.

Amid mounting accusations, Mayor Bob Filner is facing even greater pressure to resign.  His own local party weighed in Thursday night, and Friday the news broke that Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, leader of the Democratic National Committee, called on the Democratic mayor to resign, saying  the misconduct Filner has been accused of is "reprehensible and indefensible."

The New York Times spotlighted local Democrats' actions, and even the foreign press has taken notice.

San Diego City Hall is watching officials exit their jobs, but Filner appears to be digging in for a legal and PR fight.

Are his days numbered? If so, when will Finer step down?  Or will Filner join New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner  as a scandal-embattled figure who stays the course?  Share your thoughts in the comments.
