Issue: Agree with Your Congress Member to Fund NSA Phone Snooping?

San Diego County Reps. Susan Davis, Duncan Hunter, Darrell Issa, Scott Peters and Juan Vargas all voted with majority to allow the program.

In a rare show of unity, San Diego’s congressional delegation agreed Wednesday to oppose a Republican’s amendment to halt the National Security Agency's bulk collection of phone record data.

They all voted to let the program continue—or at least not take away its funding.

Voting with the majority (217-205) against the amendment by Rep. Justin Amash of Michican were Reps. Susan Davis, D-San Diego; Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine; Darrell Issa, R-Vista; Scott Peters, D-San Diego and Juan Vargas, D-San Diego.

But Huffington Post reported: “The closeness of the vote, the first on the surveillance programs since the revelations of NSA leaker Edward Snowden, gave civil liberties groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, which has been a vigorous critic of that surveillance, some reason for optimism that future reforms will be possible.”

Did your Congress member represent your stance on the program?  Or should your lawmaker have taken a stand against massive phone-snooping on Americans?  Share your thoughts in the comments.
