Farmers Market Find: Honey Crisp Apples

Abel Ramos at the Bernardo Winery Farmers Market offers a sweet snack.

Simple snack. Simple choice.

Abel Ramos, one of the farmers at the RB Farmers Market at the Bernardo Winery on Fridays, has many fruits and vegetables for customers to choose from, but it's the honey crisp apples that people seem to like.

The apples are grown in Fresno and brought down weekly, Ramos said. The apples, as the name says, are light, crisp and sweet. Ramos was selling the apples for $2.50 per pound at the last market, though sweet samples were on the house.
