Tammie Gillies. Regional Director. Anti-defamation League

Please join us at our January 15 Dinner Forum to hear Tammie Gillies provide us with an update on the key issues and challenges the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) deals with on a daily basis.

Ms. Gillies is the Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League in San Diego and is well versed in both the ADL and San Diego's Jewish community. The ADLS's position is to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all.

She also served as the San Diego ADL office development director. Prior to that, Ms. Gillies worked for two years at the Center for Jewish Culture, which runs the San Diego Jewish Film Festival and Book Fair, among other things. She also spent three years at the Agency for Jewish Education.

While Gillies’ new position as regional director benefits from her development expertise, it encompasses much more. The ADL works with local law enforcement to insure the security of Jewish institutions. She also wants people to know the ADL is available 24 hours a day to deal with incidents of anti-Semitism and any type of racism, bigotry or bullying. The ADL is also at the forefront of addressing another universal problem — cyber-bullying.
