Beth Israel of San Diego Men’s Club Dinner Forum October 16, 2013, Featuring Jan Goldsmith, San Diego City Attorney

Please join us at Beth Israel of San Diego Men’s Club Kickoff Dinner Forum Wednesday evening October 16, 2013 at 6:30 pm to hear our City Attorney Jan Goldsmith discuss the current challenges facing the City of San Diego. City Attorney Goldsmith has been at the forefront of San Diego issues in recent months and will share his insights at this not to be missed dinner forum.

Mr. Goldsmith began practicing law in 1977 with a focus on business litigation. He then served as the Mayor of Poway, California, and also represented that city and other northern suburbs as the representative of the 75th Assembly district from 1992 until 1998. During his career in the Assembly, he held various leadership positions including Majority Floor Leader, Member of Rules Committee, Chairman of the Banking and Finance Committee and Vice Chairman of Judiciary. Mr. Goldsmith has taught as Adjunct Professor of Law at three San Diego law schools on subjects including municipal government law and prosecution of political crimes.

Shortly after leaving his Assembly district position due to “term limits”, he served as a San Diego County Judge for 9½ years before stepping down from that position to run for San Diego City Attorney, a position he was elected to in 2008 and then re-elected again in 2012.
