DUI arrests; World AIDS Day; Supercenters

It's officially that busy time of the year.

Hanukkah began a bit early this year, with the first night of the Festival of Lights on Wednesday. That also was World AIDS Day.

Here is a look at some of the stories on RB Patch over the past week:

  • After Mayor Jerry Sanders on  vetoed an ordinance with extra rules for supercenters, the City Council on  voted to override his veto. Councilman Carl DeMaio, who represents Rancho Bernardo, voted against the ordinance and did not support the override.
  • For World AIDS Day, Patch columnist Rachael Grant Dixon to the time before the day of awareness and testing. On Wednesday, we provided some  for local and state AIDS and HIV cases, as well as links to more information about the illnesses.
  • Throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we provided updates on the number of drunking driving arrests. On Monday, California Highway Patrol officials released , which were down locally from last year but up statewide.
  • Police also reported  at neighboring businesses in the Bernardo North Business Center early Wednesday morning. No one was injured, but thieves made off with more than a dozen laptops and computers.
