Webb Park Certified Farmers Market Canceled for Sunday

The market's managers hope to be back up and running on April 10 after a venue change.

The Webb Park Certified Farmers Market will not be open on Sunday as its managers try to nail down a new home following a split from the association that owns the park.

The market's managers say they hope to be back up and running on April 10, but a new location has not yet been finalized. The market had been operating at Webb Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

The Bernardo Town Center Property Owners Association, which owns the park, decided on Wednesday to end its relationshp with the market, saying it had not met expectations since re-opening in October. The association's decision came just a day after the Rancho Bernardo Business Association, which had been a headline sponsor, voted to sever ties with the market. The RBBA had taken issue with the lack of revenue generated by the market.

Market manager Claire Winnick said she had simply run out of time to secure the new permits and other required paperwork to host the market in a new location on Sunday. The managers also would have needed to give notice to its farmers by Wednesday about any changes, she said.
