The Cheapest Gas in Rancho Bernardo

Gas prices rose again Thursday for the 12th time in 13 days.

Gas prices are at their highest in the past 10 weeks, rising 2.7 cents to an average of $3.873 per gallon on Thursday.

This is the 12th increase in 13 days and the highest average price since June 22, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average gallon now costs 13.4 cents more than it did a week ago, 5.6 above a month ago and 81.3 cents more than a year ago.

The cheapest gas in Rancho Bernardo can be found for $3.77 per gallon at the 76 at the corner of West Bernardo Drive and Rancho Bernardo Road; or for $3.79 per gallon at the ARCO at the corner of Rancho Bernardo Road and Bernardo Center Drive, according to GasBuddy.com.

The price increases are attributed to potential shortages caused by the upcoming maintenance period for West Coast refineries and Hurricane Irene, said Avery Ash, the AAA's manager of federal relations.
