PQ Gets Ready for Fiesta Weekend
The community's biggest weekend of the year is coming with a street fair, fun run, photography contest and more.
The Rancho Peñasquitos Town Council is pulling everything together for the big weekend ahead, which includes a Fun Run, Fiesta street fair, photography contest and car show.
The council meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Double Tree Hotel & Resort, 14455 Peñasquitos Dr. in the El Dorado Room. The meeting will feature a presentation on the 18th annual Fiesta de los Peñasquitos by event chair Jerry Bouck.
The street fair, which draws thousands to the community each year for a day of family activities, is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5 in the Vons shopping center on Black Mountain Road. This year's theme is Picturesque Peñasquitos.

The day before, at 8 a.m. Saturday, the council also hosts the PQ5K Fun Run starting at 12835 Black Mountain Rd. The run (or walk, if you prefer) is free and same-day registration is allowed. Details here.
