Rain, Wind & Thunderstorms in Friday's Forecast

It's time to find those umbrellas.

The National Weather Service is forecasting strong winds, cold rain and possible thunderstorms for Friday, making it a good time to dig into the closet for your wet weather gear.

Here's what to expect:

  • Strong, gusty winds ranging from 20 to 45 mph.
  • Light to moderate rain on Friday, with showers tapering off at night.
  • Possible thunderstorms during the day.

Up to 4 inches of snow could fall in the mountains, starting as low as 4,500 feet by Friday night, according to the NWS. The rain and snow, plus strong winds, could make for "deadly" conditions for unprepared hikers and campers, according to the NWS.
