• Slow down when driving and maintain extra following distance between cars.
• Check your tire tread. There should be at least 1/32 of an inch tread depth between any two adjacent grooves.

• See if windshield wiper blades are in good condition. If they show signs of wear, get them replaced.
• Turn on your headlights and use your defroster to preserve visibility.
Rancho Bernardo forecast, from the National Weather Service:
• Saturday: Heavy rains, 90 percent; Saturday night: Heavy rains, 80 percent.
• Sunday: Rain likely, 60 percent; Sunday night: 40 percent chance of showers.
• Monday: 30 percent chance of showers; Monday night: Partly cloudy.
