Monday Morning

New council members; Hanukkah; Fitness.

Here is a look back at the weekend and a few quick notes on the coming week:

The Weekend

  • Five Rancho Bernardo High School football players were named to the  team by the North County Times.
  • Firefighters from Station No. 33 in Rancho Bernardo demonstrated some of the  they do to stay fit.
  • Mmm cookies. And cake. And pie! A quick  gives some ideas of simple treats to make this holiday season.

The Week

  • New San Diego City Council members David Alvarez and Lorie Zapf are to be sworn in Monday morning. The afternoon meeting includes talks on putting the city's information technology services out to bid in a potentially cost-cutting move.
  • Chabad of Poway, 16934 Chabad Way, is hosting the Chanukah Wonderland Carnival on Monday from 4:30-7 p.m. Activities planned: menorah lighting, rides, crafts, music, latkes and more. The congregation includes many RB residents.
  • The RB Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oaks North Community Center, 12578 Oaks North Dr.
