Heat Wave Warning; Wildfire Risk

More hot, dry weather is expected in the coming days.

An upper level ridge of high pressure and weak offshore flow will bring very hot and dry weather to San Diego County Sunday through Wednesday, elevating the risk of wildfire in the region, forecasters said Friday.

Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest and driest days, according to the National Weather Service, which forecast highs in the 90s at the beaches, reaching triple digits in the valleys and deserts.

"A cooling trend will take place Thursday and Friday of next week as the upper ridge weakens and onshore flow returns," according to a weather service advisory.
