Gas Prices Reverse Trend, Head Back Toward $4

Gas prices have risen for three consecutive days after a long streak of decreases.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday for the third consecutive day after dropping 56 times in the previous 57 days, increasing 1.4 cents to $3.708.

The average price fell to its lowest amount since Jan. 4 on Thursday, then rose seven-tenths of a cent on Friday and 1.1 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The three consecutive increases have pushed the average price 1.8 cents above what it was one week ago. However, it is 28.7 cents less than one month ago and 8.8 cents lower than one year ago.
