Gas Prices Make Biggest Jump Since May

Average prices rose 1.5 cents on Wednesday.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County Wednesday recorded its largest daily increase since May 15, rising 1.5 cents to $3.828.

The average price is 2.1 cents more than one week ago, 9.5 cents greater than one month ago and 1.1 cents above one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen 17 of the past 20 days. A 14-day streak of increases ended Friday when the price remained unchanged.

The average price rose one-tenth of a cent on Saturday, fell one-tenth of a cent on Sunday, was unchanged Monday and rose three-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.
