Gas Prices Lowest Since February

The streak of falling gas prices hit 30 days on Friday.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell on Friday for the 30th consecutive day, dropping 1.3 cents to settle at $3.606, its lowest amount since Feb. 23.

The average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 24.5 cents lower than a month ago, but 35.6 cents more than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has fallen 25.1 cents over the past 30 days, including a half-cent on Thursday.

The price drops are the result of lower demand, which is typical for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
