Gas Prices Keep Falling

The downward slide hit its 35th day on Wednesday.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell today for the 35th consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to $3.574, its lowest amount since Feb. 21.

The average price is 5 cents less than one week ago and 25.3 cents lower than a month ago, but 31.1 cents more than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has fallen 28.3 cents over the past 35 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The decreasing prices are the result of lower demand, which is typical for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
