Gas Prices Continue to Climb; Back Up to $3.81

After falling for weeks on end, gas prices have been climbing over the past 13 days.

The average price of a gallon of gas in San Diego County is up to $3.818, the 12th increase in the past 13 days.

This is 3 cents more than a week ago, and 68.9 cents higher than this time last year but 6.5 cents lower than a month ago, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The cheapest gallon of gas in Rancho Bernardo can be found for $3.83 at the 76 at West Bernardo Drive and Rancho Bernardo Road, according to GasBuddy.com.

Crude oil and wholesale gasoline price increases, resulting from a weaker dollar, are to blame for the rising prices, said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
