Falling Gas Prices Streak Continues

The streak has lasted for 39 days.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased Friday for the 39th consecutive day, falling 1.5 cents to $3.818, its lowest amount since July 31.

The average price has dropped 90.7 cents over the past 39 days, including 1.3 cents on Thursday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 80.4 cents lower than one month ago, but seven-tenths of a cent more than one year ago.

The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 42-day streak that ended July 13.
