Sprouts Takes Root in Rancho Bernardo

Henry's Farmers Market officially became Sprouts at the RB location this week.

"Even though the names are changing, it's still kind of all in the family."

This week, the at 15727 Bernardo Heights Pkwy in Rancho Bernardo officially made the switch to the Sprouts name—one of the last stores to do so as the companies complete a merger announced .

Sprouts Farmers Market President and Chief Operating Officer Doug Sanders told Patch he knows the name change might be difficult for some San Diegans considering this is where Henry's got its start through the Boney family.

But the mission remains the same, Sanders said.

"Our gal is to provide healthy living for less," he said, adding that the Boney family is still on the board.

Most of the changes the merger has brought—new uniforms, signs and logos—won't alter the shopping experience in a noticeable way, he said. Pricing won't change much and customers will be able to access new brands as the two stores' private labels—Sun Harvest for Henry's and Sprouts brand—come to sit alongside each other on the shelves.

There are now 106 locations, with several more coming to the West Coast soon including in Southern California, Sanders said. A total of 43 stores were switched to the Sprouts name over the past nine weeks, he said.
