Rancho Bernardo Inn Gets New $2M Irrigation System

The system overhaul took six months to complete, according to a report.

The Rancho Bernardo Inn recently finished a $2 million overhaul of its irrigation system, the first complete redo since opening in 1962, according to a U-T San Diego report.

“It was time,” said [Chris] Hayman, who serves as a board member for the San Diego Golf Course Superintendents Association. “A new irrigation system is the single biggest investment you can make to a golf course, other than a major redesign. It’s the most critical tool that you have. We will probably work less to make the golf course look better than it has in the past.”
