New Nordstrom Rack Opening Thursday in Carmel Mountain Ranch

A new Nordstrom Rack is coming to North County with the opening of the discount store's fourth San Diego location in Carmel Mountain Ranch on Thursday.

Starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, the new store at 11940 Carmel Mountain Rd., Suite 100, will begin ramping up for an official open at 9 a.m. The stores offer discounted Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack-specific merchandise. This will be the closest Nordstrom Rack location to Rancho Bernardo, though there is a Nordstrom just a few freeway exits away at the North County Mall in Escondido.

Opening day comes with gifts for shoppers who open their wallets, including totes for the first 1,000 who make a purchase, $100 store credit to those who find one of 20 "Golden Hangers" and a drawing for a 90-second $2,000 shopping spree. The spree drawing will be announced at 8:30 a.m. and the winner must be present. 

There are three other Nordstrom Racks in the San Diego area—Mission Valley, Plaza Bonita and Grand Plaza in San Marcos—and four of the mother (Nordstrom) stores—North County Mall in Escondido, Fashion Valley, Horton Plaza and University Town Centre.
