MediBloom Shuts Down; Only Temporary, Lawyer Says

A controversial medical marijuana dispensary in Rancho Bernardo has closed.

MediBloom, a controversial medical marijuana dispensary that opened in Rancho Bernardo in April, closed Tuesday, though the dispensary's attorney says it's only temporary while he files an appeal of an eviction ruling.

The owners of the property that hosts MediBloom, located on Avena Place off of Bernardo Center Drive, recently to evict the dispensary for violating the city's zoning laws.

The city of San Diego does not issue business permits to medical marijuana dispensaries.

MediBloom's attorney Lance Rogers told Patch on Wednesday that the dispensary had closed the previous day, while it appeals the eviction ruling.

A notice on the door reads: "Thank you for your support! MediBloom has been forced to close. We have been evicted. CLOSED. We will continue to serve the community as a delivery service."

The sign also provides a phone number for people to call for deliveries, available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

"You will NOT have to re-signup for this service. Thank you for your continued suppport," the sign reads.

The closure is only temporary, Rogers said, and the appeal will be filed by the end of the week.

The San Diego City Attorney's Office, under a , has been going after dispensaries in the city recently.
