Golden Idol

Are you 55 or older and have a talent you want to show off? Then you need to compete in the Golden Idol contest.

The inaugural contest for the seniors living in Rancho Bernardo and the surrounding communities is a new addition to the pre-Spirit of the Fourth festivities. It will be 4-7 p.m. on June 30 at the Ed Brown Senior Center.

There is no entry fee and each act is limited to five minutes.

The contest is limited to the first 20 entrants who submit their application by June 23. Call the number below for more details.

Cash prizes will be awarded to those in first, second and third place. The three finalists will also be invited to perform their talent at the community fair in Webb Park on July 4.
